For Your Consideration: India Jordan Picks Back of the Bus Classics + EP Inspiration!

Updated: Jun 26, 2019

India Jordan is MEGA! As part of the New Atlantis nucleus, she’s been a mainstay at Rye Wax for aaaaaaaages, whether blowing minds behind the decks or wigging out in the crowd, so when we heard that she wanted to do the release party for her debut EP (out on the ever-dependable Local Action) at Rye Wax it made us do a big blush. DNT STP MY LV is a magical pallet of neon-bathed first meetings and fair ground buzz, we thought it’d be a damn shame not to ask India to share a few formative musical revelations as well as a few bits that influenced the record, so we can all gear up suitably for this Thursday.

Altern 8 - Hole In The Speaker

My fave Altern-8 tune. Back when the Internet wasn't that good and most classics were not on streaming sites, I wanted to download the track but couldn't find it anywhere so I managed to find Mark Archer's contact details via MySpace and he sent it over.

Plus System - Prince of Darkness

My fave track off the Bonkerz Forevolution CD that I bought when I was 13. Played this for the first time in a club at Finn, Anz and Jungle Joe's fast music night Escape Velocity last year, please do another guys it was ace.

Golden Girls - Kinetic (Frank De Wulf 12'' Remix)

Just a feel good classic innit.

CRW - I Feel Love - R.A.F Zone Mix

My mum bought me Kevin and Perry Go Large DVD for my 16th birthday and this reminds me of that film! It's also on one of the Ministry of Sound Classic Trance Anthems compilations I used to own and used to put this one on repeat.

The Prodigy - Skylined

Can you even imagine making this tune omg. What a masterpiece. RIP Keith Flint!

Catch India Jordan in the basement tomorrow night, Thursday 2nd May, alongside Finn, Ifeoluwa andYamaneko – tickets here: https://www.residentadvisor.net/events/1252488
