GRIP is a photographic publication documenting the experience of working alongside Free Movement Skateboarding in Athens. FMS are a non-profit organisation use skateboarding as a means of empowerment for those of all ages; having equality, integration and wellbeing at the centre of their philosophy.
Recreational activities such as this are essential to those in need. With 65,000 refugees currently living in Greece, Athens has become the first port-of-call for many who have travelled to mainland Europe from various war-torn and volatile countries. Economic hardship, as a result of financial crisis and austerity, has limited the amount of support from the state and has left gaps in work that needs addressing; including community projects.
Proceeds from the sale of GRIP are donated to Free Movement Skateboarding.
