Fresh - Direct from the source! No snoozing on this stellar EP from Ilyes!
Highly recommended gear right here. Essential explosives for your record bag.
The intersection of minimal, tech house, garage and breakbeat has thrown up all manner of mysterious and talented producers over the last few years.
We don’t know much about Ilyes except that he’s from Paris and has lots in common with countryman Sweely’s wiggly house grooves. ‘Yes Yes’ is an addictively fast paced cut that takes the sound of classic garage house into the present. Paced with plenty of groove, sampled stabs and a hip-hop vocal are all cleverly arranged for maximum vibes while deep chord washes stop things getting too rowdy. ‘Rue Farcot’ is dubbier but again cruises along in the 130s, a bleepy, delayed lead making it one for more introspective hours of the day or night while still keeping all limbs swinging.
Two deep, pacey house cuts from the Parisian producer... these really won't hang around for long!
A - Yes Yes - 6:49
B - Rue Farcot - 7:18
