Recorded entirely on analogue hardware via reel to reel tape, these two tracks from this local duo have an unfussy, back to basics approach which yield otherworldly results; perfect for both fuzzy late nights and fluffy early mornings.

Two of South London’s finest exponents of new house music join forces for the first release on Rhythm Section sublabel International Black. IB’s mission statement is to provide functional and effective dance music striking a darker tone than some of the sunnier cuts featured on RS.

The A hints at UK Garage with staccato hi-hats and swung shuffle, descending into a frothy Detroit house ambience as lush pads meander over a 303. On the flip is a nice deep house cut achieving a sleazy energy using just a few simple elements that have been well put-together.

Rhythm Section is a monthly party started by Peckham resident Bradley Zero in 2009 that takes place across a variety of different venues around London, first making roots at Canavan’s Pool Hall on Rye Lane. The label Rhythm Section International was born in 2014, with a successful string of releases in Its first year. Nominated for 'Label of the Year' at Gilles Peterson's Worldwide Awards the following year, it has quickly achieved international recognition.
