Jakob Hohmann and Konrad Wehrmeister team up once more after a riotous effort on SVS records. This time, it’s a very dubby affair, with 2-step elements to get you frisky. All 3 tracks hit around 130bpm and rely on oddball spring reverb pings and sporadic use of melody. More techno-focused than anything on the label so far, Sobis is reminiscent of Shed/WAX’s productions whilst Hot Jam Mixer Routing and Stratosphere opt for broken/2-step beats.
We first met founder Toma Kami when he popped into Rye Wax to show us his first release. Since then we have stocked every offering on Man Band, which manages to be musically broad yet always delivers. The label has quickly become a firm favourite amongst staff, and we definitely recommend keeping an eye on this emerging local talent.
